You’ve probably heard that the easiest way to build an email list is by having a free opt-ins available for those who sign up, but as a spiritual entrepreneur, you may be wondering what kind of opt-in you can offer. It can be tough coming up with freebies that will draw in your ideal audience while keeping things aligned with your services or products. Below you’ll find 15 ideas to use for opt-ins to grow your list, plus a free cheat sheet you can print out and keep on hand for quick reference.
But before we get into the opt-in ideas, let me refresh your memory on why opt-ins matter.
People can understandably be very particular about who they give their email address out to. They are tired of getting their inboxes filled with useless emails from numerous lists they’ve signed up for. Most people just delete things without even reading them, or unsubscribe completely from lists that are no longer providing value.
By delivering something for free upon signup, you are giving people a sneak peek into the type of content they can expect to receive from you. It’s like when you see a trailer for a movie & get super psyched to see it. Your freebie will give your subscribers a sneak peek into the value being part of your list (and your services or products) will give to them.
This is why it’s SUPER important that your opt-ins are aligned with your niche and the types of services and/or products you offer.
You’re using these to build your know/like/trust factor, so staying on-topic is key. You want to show your audience that you are an expert in your field.
Additionally, opt-ins created specifically for your niche & ideal client can help you filter who ends up on your email list. This way, you know you’re sending emails to those who will truly benefit from your content and services or products.
Let’s dive into 15 EPIC opt-ins you can give away as a spiritual entrepreneur!
Inspirational Quote Printables
Are you in the habit of posting quotes or tidbits of wisdom you’ve learned? Why not create some simple printouts for your audience? It’s a great way to keep yourself fresh in their minds while providing constant inspiration and fostering self-reflection. You can create a bundle of printables that you deliver to their inbox after signing up, along with a brief introduction and description of your services/products.
Do you already have a stash of opt-in freebies that you’ve sent out in the past? Why not consolidate them in one place on your website, and offer free membership to this resource library as an opt-in? This is a great way to showcase all your offerings by giving your audience small samplings. It also allows you to see what your audience is most interested in by tracking which freebies are downloaded the most.
Tarot Spread/yoga pose sequence/journaling guide
Your audience can really benefit from getting a sampling of the services you offer – it lets them test things out without making a financial commitment. Think about the types of services or products you offer, and how you can create an easy-to-apply beginner’s resource (like those listed above). This is also a great way to start a sales funnel leading to a larger offering.
One of the best ways to connect with your audience is to give them a little snapshot of your own practices when it comes to health, wellness, and spirituality. Why not send them one of your favorite daily routines or rituals – or better yet, why not create something specifically to address your audience’s pain points? Giving them the ability to try your methods without a huge investment is a great way to build your trust factor.
Meditation Audio or Video
Just like with the daily routine/ritual offering above, sharing one of your favorite or specifically created meditations will help build confidence in what you have to offer. Deepen your connection with your audience by sending it in an audio or video format – don’t be afraid to put yourself out there!
A step-by-step guide to…
Let your audience test-drive your services with a quick step-by-step guide. It could be a guide to choosing their own tarot deck, how to find a yoga class that best suits them or a guide to boosting their confidence. Whatever it is, keep it simple, and leave a little room for them to want more.
eBook (expand on blog posts on the same topic)
If you’ve got a few blog posts (or emails) written on the same topic, a great way to repurpose this content is by turning it into an eBook. Be sure to include even MORE value than you put into the posts or emails (go more in-depth, offer more tips, etc.). This is a great way to introduce yourself to your new audience members and lets them really see the value you can provide them.
Checklists are definitely one of my favorite opt-ins to get and to give. They are very versatile, great for those new to a service or product, and fairly easy to create. They can be extremely useful as an opt-in because it gives your audience a way to apply your teachings to their everyday lives and really notice the value you can bring them. You can include checklists for things like what to eat before and after a yoga class, what tools to use to set up a sacred space, or your top 5 things to do to boost self-love – or whatever great offering you come up with!
Self-care is HUGE right now, and interest in it is only continuing to grow. Why not create a self-care guide with specific tips on how to incorporate techniques that are specific to your niche? This is another way to help your audience apply your offerings to their everyday lives and help them FEEL your value.

As spiritual entrepreneurs, we know how important it is to stay grounded and centered, and how hard that can be as sensitive people. Quizzes can serve two purposes: they not only help your audience figure out what they want, but they help YOU figure out what your audience wants & needs.
